The King's Singers (former title: Schola Cantorum Pro Musica Profana) was founded in the middle 60's by three friends Simon Carrington, Brian Kay, and Alastair Hume. Alastair Thompson, Anthony Holt, and Nigel Perrin joined the band later. The group's debut album called By Appointment appeared in 1971, the 1972's The King's Music LP followed it.
